The Ritz Hotel Madrid. That's my puny (little!) bedroom here at the Ritz. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers, isn't it?

Unique Qualities: Referred to as Madrid's most exclusive hotel, the Ritz Hotel was built at the request of dear Alfonso XIII when he could find no suitable hotel(s) posh (and plush enough) in which to house his royal guests arriving for his wedding. The one thing I find impressive about this place is its eye-catching 'Belle Epoque' furnishings. I felt as if I were being transported back in time to an era when women didn't have to work (lucky them) and wore flowing resplendent gowns... and rode around in horse carriages. Hm.

Directions: Very centrally located; and just across the street is the world-famous Museo del Prado and the lesser known - Thyssen-Bornemisza museum (equally impressive).

Still at the Ritz.... That's me messy-ing up (is there such a word?) my TINY room. This isn't a very large hotel with just 129 rooms and less than 30 suites housed in 6 floors. You must check out the exclusive fitness center on the top-most floor though. Do your exercise here and perspire in style!

The deluxe Miguel Angel Hotel. This is the next hotel where I managed to stay in whilst I was in Madrid. And I would highly recommend this place to anyone who would like a nice hotel to stay in.... that is, assuming that the Ritz is not your cup of tea, for its convenient location and the fact that it is just next to the metro/ subway.

And just a 3-minute walk down is this lovely eaterie which I frequent alot here called 'VIPS' - (Please refer to my 'Restaurant' listing for more info). At the other end of this long road is the world famous Hard Rock Cafe.
