Venetain Lido: Take A Joyflight To See Venice & Its Lagoon

  • I haven't tried this yet... but some of my friends had already experienced these joyflights.

Choose a reputable company handling such joyflights and they can fly you over historical cities of Padova, Treviso and Chioggia, the wonderful islands of the Venetian Lagoon
(Pellestrina, Alberoni and Venice Lido) and old Venice city. They can even fly you over the Italian Dolomites! You can take great panoramic photos from your window-seat of the city below you.

I am told that each of such flight lasts for approximately 1 hour and the aircraft can comfortably accommodate 3 passengers.
It's not cheap but definitely a thrilling experience. Your memories-to-last-for-a-lifetime can set you back by as much as US$150 and more per person.

We'll try this recommendation on our next visit to Venice for sure.

For more details, please check directly with your hotel concierge.... I am merely passing on a tip my friends shared with me.

Murano: The Magical Venetian Glasses From MURANO
  • Tip Rating:
  • Venice Murano
  • Made in Murano Venetian glass
  • miniatures!

  • Venetian glass is famous the world over. And you can buy these Murano-made Venetian glasses in Venice.

Murano is a small group of islands lying on the edge of the Adriatic Sea in the Venetian lagoon about 3,000 meters north of the larger group of islands comprising the city of Venice.

According to historical records, glass-making existed in the lagoon of Venice from as early as the 8th century. For the 100 years between 1860 and 1960, the glass producing firms located on Murano Island rose to world prominence in the production of decorative glass objects. One of the most remarkable aspects of this achievement is that it was the 2nd time in history that Murano had attained this accolade - and the 2 occasions were separated apart by 500 years!

If you're a fan of Murano glass ware, you know it is your duty to make a visit to the glass-making factories on Murano Island. Si?

Harry's sounds pricey, but we will have to at least get a bellini! Thanks for a great tip and detail!

I especially like the tip about staying in a slightly off the beaten path hotel and walking home late at night with the sounds of the waters . . . great page, Krystynn!

Now that you live in Milan, those incredibly rakish Italian men would be ACTUAL Armani models :)
