Definitely the legendary HARRY'S BAR - A meeting place for the beautifully hip people. This bar has been in the news for over a decade now....

And when you're here - don't forget to try their signature drink - BELLINI.

If you're hungry, the floor above serves delicious food. Please refer to my "RESTAURANTS" tips for more info.

Dress Code: This is Italy. Everyone is fashionably dressed meaning - no tennis shoes, purleeease! There is a reason why tennis shoes are called - tennis shoes. They are meant for the tennis courts.

Harry's Bar is the watering hole for the who's-who and those who are not intimidated by the who's-who. Confused? O.K. - it simply means - When you come to Harry's Bar for your Bellini, DRESS TO KILL. Si?

Casinò Municipale di Venezia: Gambling At The Casino...

  • Nightlife Spot: Casinò Municipale di Venezia

The posh Casinò Municipale di Venezia is really worth checking. Located inside a beautiful Venetian palace overlooking the Grand Canal... and in the heart of Venice's old town center, this casino is a good alternative to the disco.

The casino is open on weekdays from 3pm-2:30am; weekends from 3pm-4:45am (season: October-April).

What kind of games do you expect to play at the Casino?

Good question. The table games you'll expect to see include - the Baccarat, Blackjack, Backgammon, Bridge, French Roulette, Gin Rummy amongst many more.

An admission fee is payable at the entrance. I don't know what the latest admissioin charges are. But when we were last there (before the Euro currency was implemented), we paid approx. 15,000 Italian Lira). If you can speak Italian, that's cool because almost everyone here speaks Italian. However, if you can't speak and can't understand the language, sign language and some luck should suffice....!

Remember to bring along your International Passport as a form of identification - otherwise you won't be allowed to play!

Harry's sounds pricey, but we will have to at least get a bellini! Thanks for a great tip and detail!

I especially like the tip about staying in a slightly off the beaten path hotel and walking home late at night with the sounds of the waters . . . great page, Krystynn!

Now that you live in Milan, those incredibly rakish Italian men would be ACTUAL Armani models :)
