Ha! I know many people in Greece that never been here and when I ask why they say:
1.it’s full of tourists
2.it’s extremely expensive
3.it’s full of gays!
4.it’s full of celebrities, posers etc
5.it’s just another dry island

Haha! It’s all true! So what? I have my reasons to give to visit this island:
1.I always go on spring and it’s great
2.Yes, it’s expensive but if you go off season and pay attention where you eat everything will be ok for your wallet
3.True, it is a popular gay destination! They feel more comfortable here, but it’s an island not a house. You can choose another beach, another club if you have problem with that. I always go with my girlfriend and don’t have any problem. We are at 2009, aren’t we?
4.Same as the above but they like to see and to be seen so they prefer high season! Avoid july, august and easter holidays and you’ll be fine.
5.it’s a beautiful island, with great architecture, a beautiful old town, nice sandy beaches (more than 30 I think), more than 1000 little chapels and the only way to visit Dilos island! Don’t forget to visit the Maritime museum (10:30-21:00) and the folklore museum (17:30-20:30)
