| perfectly placed on the foothill of Ntelidim |
Truly virgin nature, completely untouched yet. Agrafa is a group of small villages up in the mountains of centralwestern part of Eyrytania, an area where its hard to reach but it’s worth the trip.
The road from Karpinisi (the capital of Eyrytania) is really hard but you can enjoy the view of canyons and cliffs. The northern village is Trovato (1.060m high) at the foothill of Ntelidim mountain.
Trovato used to be one of the rich villages of Eyrytania 50 years before with thousands of goats and sheeps. Only 30 people live here during the winter but the village comes alive in the summer. In the census of 2001 460 people state citizens of the village! |
| | The basic landmark here is the nature around but you can also visit some interesting churches like Ai Dimitris and the old monastery of Virgin Mary. Trovato is 115km from Karpenisi but it’s really worth it. Just before reaching Trovato there is an area with a small wooden houses and small tables to sit right next to the river. |
| a typical local old lady... |
| | The local people are very friendly, they aren't used of tourists but you will enjoy their hospitality. They always ask the "stranger" to come inside for a drink |

Where/whose house can one stay in while in the village? | nickandchris Wed Oct 3, 2007 16:51 UTC Another stunning location. Thanks for letting us know about this. (Have only travelled the main Karpenisi road, via the lakes, which is spectacular enough.) | Vanity666 Tue Sep 11, 2007 15:48 UTC Beautiful place, nature so untouched....
