Getting TO/AROUND: Turkey has an excellent bus network so you can easily reach Bodrum from many other cities across the mainland. The bus station(otogar) is near the city center, 500 m down the Cevat Sakir caddesi will bring you near to the castle. There are several bus companies, just go there at ask for timetables and prices. The companies have more or less the same prices but not the same services. My favorite is Pamukalle, an excellent company with modern buses, polite stuff, free tea/coffee and biscuits (!) for journeys that last more than 3 hours!

Marmaris-Bodrum costs 15 TL (9euro) and takes 3,5 hours
Bodrum-Izmir costs 20TL (12 euro) and takes 4 hours. There are several trips daily but I use to go there one day before to take my ticket and see the timetables. For exable Pamukalle has buses to Izmir daily at 5:00 11:00 12:00 15:00 16:00 17:00 18:00
Bodrum-Istanbul takes around 11 hours

If you come by plane HAVAS has bus services from the airport to the bus station. The trips lasts 30’.

Getting TO/AROUND: Like everywhere in Turkey you can use Dolmush, a minivan that takes you everywhere around the city (not long distances). They are slow and sometimes they wait to get full of people but you can hop on/off everywhere. Just pay attention to sign in front to see the final destination. Then get inside and pass the money to the one in front of you.

Of course there are many taxis everywhere. You will find many of them in the bus station waiting for you. The prices of the taxis in Turkey are cheaper than in Europe but it will be nice to ask tthe driver about your final destination and how much will cost you more or less.

Getting TO/AROUND: You can reach Bodrum with a hydrofoil from greek island Kos. There are daily boats during summer and 3 boats in winter time. It’s nice to go there for a day trip, you leave for Kos around 9 o clock and return around 17:00
There is also a ferry from Datca. In fact you go by bus to Körmen and the boat departs from there at 9 am.
