Goreme is a small touristic village in the middle of Cappadocia region, only 20’ away from Nevsehir(the main city with bus connection to every little or big city). I preferred to stay here alough the majority prefers Urgup because there are many 4-5 stars hotels and biggest variety of restaurants I think I choosed well because I was away most of the time exploring the region of Cappadocia and during the night it was peaceful enough. I didn’t care about nightlife here although there are some small café to drink a beer. |
| | Most of the tours stop over the village for a panorama view of the village and the valleys around. The village is build among the strange rock formations of fairy chimneys. It’s really weird to walk among cave houses and modern building. Many hotels are partly carved into stone and most of the times have some rooms like this. There is a mosque, a lot of souvenir shops, some restaurants and at the central square you will find the bus companies and the travel agents that have daily tours around the are. You will probably wont have time for the village during the day because you will explore the area around like I did. |
| | Don’t forget that in Goreme is the Open Air Museum with most fascinating cave churches. It’s in walking distance from the village so if you stay here you wont have to visit as part of daily tour like the people from Urgup usually do. |
