Getting TO/AROUND: If you are in Greece you can reach Marmaris from Rhodes with an hydrofoil. It takes only 1 hour and costs 75 euro for a return ticket. Many people come this way as a daytrip from Rhodes or for going further inside Turkey. Aegean airlines has many daily flights from Athens to Rhodes with a cost that starts at 80 euros for a return ticket.
I took the morning flight that arrived at Rhodes at 6:20am and then the hydrofoil departed for Marmaris at 8:30am. On my return one week later I took the hydrofoil at Marmaris at 16:00 and the plane to Athens departed at 21:00.

You have to take your get ticket one day before at any travel agent in Rhodes or in Marmaris. Go there the day before your departure because you have to show your passport for the customs.

Getting TO/AROUND: Turkish Airlines serves the airport of Dalaman (DLM), 120 km away from Marmaris, with daily flights from Istanbul. Many tourists arrive with chapter flights from all over Europe, especially in the summer months. There are buses that connect the airport with Marmaris.

But Turkey has an excellent bus network so you can easily reach Marmaris from many other cities across the mainland. The bus station is at the northeast part of the town, 20’ walking from the Marina but better take a taxi. There are several bus companies, just go there at ask for timetables and prices. The companies have more or less the same prices but not the same services. My favorite is Pamukalle, an excellent company with modern buses, polite stuff, free tea/coffee and biscuits (!) for journeys that last more than 3 hours!
Marmaris-Bodrum costs 15 TL (9euro) and takes 3,5 hours
Marmaris-Izmir costs 22TL (13 euro) and takes 4,5 hours

Getting TO/AROUND: Most of the people in Marmaris travel around with DOLMUS, a mini bus that can carry around 22 people. They have different colors and usually they have in front the stops and the final destination. You can use one of them to go to Icmeler, Armutalan, Siteler etc During summer time they are packed with people that go to the different beautiful bays of Marmaris.

Of course you can easily take a taxi. You will see them wait in many spots, there are some in the port too. For some long distances they have fix prices but you can bargain.

Getting TO/AROUND: Along the port you can see many boats that advertise different cruises along the coastline of Marmaris. Ask some of them about the prices and what’s the itinerary of the cruise, how long does it last etc
