  • I went there for a daytrip by train and we returned late in the afternoon after the parade(it takes place every day at 16:00 and you can see all the characters passing in front of you).

Disneyland Park is divided into 5 sections:Main Street U.S.A, Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland. You will take a free map at the entrance so you can choose what games you want to see/play so don't be afraid because the park is big.

Get into the queues for the rides because many people go there for them. There is a fast card that you dont have to wait and get inside faster than the other people. I was there in October so there wasnt any need to do that.

There are also some expensive restaurants and thats why many people bring their own food/drinks and have a picnik there (its not allowed but everyone does it)

If you stay for two days the second one you can visit Walt Disney Studios, the other park that is next to Disneyland park. I didnt have time for this.

    Cemeteries: Walking through graves?!

  • Maybe it sounds strange to visit a graveyard but this "Père Lachaise"!

You can see it as a big peaceful park that you can walk away from the noise of the city. What more you will have the chance see the last stop of famous persons from France and beyond, like Molière, Chopin, Edith Piaf, La Fontaine, Jim Morisson, Allan Kardec, Héloïse and Abélard, Chappe, Victor Noir, Oscar Wilde, Berlioz, etc...

What's more there are some beautiful statues, odd graves, nice passages.. .

You can buy a map(for 1,50€) at the gate of the cemetary...

    The entrance is free.

  • You can start your visit to Paris from ILE DE LA CITE, a nice area that is under the attack of thousands tourists everyday :) There you can visit some famous spots:

Notre Dame(free entrance or 6euro for the tower)
Saint Chapelle(5,5e) the vitro windows at the first floor are amazing (see my pic n.3)
Conciergerie(palais that become a prison after the revolution.

Then walk near the Seine or visit the Ile Saint Louis that is near. Its a peaceful area rich flats and some nice small stores.

Don't forget to take a pic of Notre Dame from bridge that connects the two areas.

Champs Elysées: walk from the Arc to Concord through ChampsElyse

  • At metro station "Charles de Gaulle-Etoile" is the ARC DE TRIOMPHE. Napoleon built it after his victory at the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805 but it finished in 1836. Its the largest in the world at 50 metres high. There is a Tourist Info near in case you stil dont have a map etc

With 8 euros go up to the Arc and admire the traffic of the 12 avenue that start from here. One of them is the famous CHAMPS ELYSEES. You can walk the 2.2km avenue until PLACE de la CONCORDE, the largest square of the city. Here the guilotine was set for the execution of Louis XVI, Maria Antoinette and almost 3000 other people in period 1793-1795
The Ovelisque is a copy of the real one in Egypt. There are also 8 statues that symbol the main cities of France(Bordeaux, Brest, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Rouen, Strasbourg) at the corners of the square.

Place de la Concorde is near of Tuileries Garden that is nice for a small walk until the entrance of the Louvre(in case you want to walk more in this huge but great museum)

Montmartre / Sacré Coeur: The beautiful Sacre Coeur and Montmartre

  • Walk in the narrow streets of Montmartre and drink an expensive coffee together with other tourists!

The locals dont come here but its nice to walk at least once at Place du Tertre, a small square occupied by the outside tables of the restaurants and by the artists (painters, musicians etc).

Its a tourist trap but you will see Sacré Coeur Basilica anyway that seems to be white when it is lightned during the night. You can climb to the top of the dome for a wonderful view of the city!

At Pigale, the area below the Montmartre hill is like Red Light District in Amsterdam! The well-known Moulin Rouge, a dozen of sex shops, peep shows and a sex museum! :)

    Directions: Metro to Anvers(line 2) or Abbesses(line 12).

There is a funicular from Anvers to Sacre Couer steps, or the funicular from Metro Abbesses,
Alternative hike up the hill on Rue Lepic.

  • L'Hotel de Ville (Paris City Hall), designed by Deperthes and Ballu, is one of the most beautiful buildings in Paris. It is situated in the centre of a huge square that several events take place like concerts, setting of videowalls for big football matches etc

La Seine and Its Bridges: Admire the bridges along the river Seine

  • Walk along the River Seine to enjoy the atmosphere, to see some beautiful bridges (most famous:Pont Alexandre III, Pont des Arts, and Pont Neuf) and admire some monuments like Tour Eiffel, Musee du Louvre, and Notre-Dame. It can take you hours but trust me... you will love it!

Do it again another day, during the night this time and you will see why Paris is called "city of lights"!

Between the Louvre and the Institut de France there is a bridge just for pedestrians that crosses the Seine.

What I liked most along the Seine were some street scenes, painters doing their job peacefully, old people feeding birds etc

If you take a boat tour with Bateaux Mouches do it the first day so you can have a nice view of almost all the famous monuments.

For second hand books/posters and souvenirs walk between the Pont des Arts and Pont Neuf.
These bookstalls(Les Bouquinistes) are located just opposite from the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Glad you enjoyed having tea at the top of Montparnasse Tower! From there you get the best views of Paris, because it's the one place where you can look out and not see the Montparnasse Tower. Also I have never had to wait in a queue to get in there.

Nice Paris page and wonderful photos, especially those of Père Lachaise and Ste-Chapelle! I thought the obelisque on Place de la Concorde was the real thing? At least there is info there on how it was shipped?
