Iguazu Falls, are big and amazing and beautiful!! Iguazu means "big water" in the language of Guarani and in fact there 275 falls in the area between argentina and brazil with the Rio(river) Iguazu running between them trying to escape from the touristic cameras but we are so many in our days! :) I stayed in Puerto Iguazu, a small town of Misiones province that is located in the northeast of Argentina. The Iguazu International Tourism Zone includes 2 other cities:Foz do Iguazu(Brazil) and Ciudad del Este(Paraguay) but P.Iguazu is smaller, safer and kind of closer to the argentinian side where I wanted to spend most of my time. |
| | I visited first the brazilian side( Parque Foz do Iguacu) to have a better overall view of the falls but the third day I came here at Parque de Iguazu and I walked for hours so close to the falls. I think the argentinian side is better because you get an intimate touch of the falls. I payed 4pesos for the bus from P.Iguazu and 40pesos for the park. There are many paths so I begun with the lower trail early in the morning and left for the end Garganta del Diablo, an amazing fall that will catch your breath at its 70meters high! |

moonfroggy4 Sun Sep 7, 2008 01:42 UTC Very helpful and detailed information - I am using it to plan my visit in October. | Bwana_Brown Wed May 28, 2008 13:13 UTC Great tips on an amazing National Park! We missed out on San Martin Island - the boat was not running :( Yes, the train was full for us one afternoon and we tried the 2 km walk but it was too hot! Still, the experience of a lifetime at Iguazù! |
