My husband and I have made several trips to both areas. We began our travels in Cancun in '89 (honeymoon). We have since returned to the Cancun area and added Puerta Vallarta trips to all inclusive resorts. While we enjoyed Cancun and the trips to ruins in that area, we have found a more peaceful vacation in Puerta Vallarta. We have found the all inclusive to be THE best way to vacation. Taking along several One Dollar bills seems adviseable and is appreciated by the natives. Bargaining is a MUST - especially on the beaches and flea market areas.
