First time in Germany Cologne is the first place we have visited in Germany, and I hope it is not the last.
A good friend of mine is living there now, and we went to visit her. This is the best way to know a city, when you have a friend as a guide. She was a good cicerone.
We were very lucky with the weather: it was quite warm, while in Alicante it was raining.
We visited some museums, the cathedral, etc. For some days we changed the famous mediterranean diet for the wurst and beer diet. |
Eau de Cologne In the famous factory of Eau de Cologne created by Farina, called 4711 due to the number given to the house, there is a shop where you can find the Eau de Cologne and all a variety of products related with it. |
There are many museums in Cologne. I liked very much the visit to the Römisch-Germanisches Museum (see the tip), but I enjoyed like a child in the Museum of Chocolate. You can learn a lot of things about cocoa production, about the process of chocolate making, etc, and you can also see the operation of the machines involved in the process. You can taste a chocolate bar just made, andin the shop you can find all the varieties of chocolate you can imagine. |
