The medieval city of the Aegean

by Aitana - last update: Mar 22, 2009

Rodos was the second stop in our honeymoon cruise. The day before we had stopped at Mykonos, where we left under a big storm. That day was sunny and warm (summer again!).

The city has many remains from its medieval past. It was an important place in the Crusades and the city was fortified. The Palace of the Gran Master, built by the Knights of St John of Jerusalem, is a good sample of the importance of Rodos.
Next stop: Santorini.
