| | The island of Tenerife is worldwide famous for the Teide, the volcano that dominates it. In fact Mt. Teide is the highest peak of Spain, with 3718 m. The area of the island is about 2,000 km2, and the shortest distance between the north coast and Mt. Teide is 13 km so the average slope is quite high.
Anaga massif in the northeast and Teno massif in the northwest are tow natural places that also deserve a visit.
|
| | The main city is Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the northeast. We stayed there for one week, moving around to visit other cities: San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava.
There are smaller places I also recommend such as Icod de los Vinos, in the north slope, and Masca, near Santiago del Teide, in the west.
