Pompeii is an amazing place where you can see how the roman villas were, how the patrician used to live.

Paradoxically, the eruption of the Vesubio which caused the destruction of Pompeii, was also the fact that preserved the city so far, buried by the ashes.

If you have the possibility to visit Pompeii on your own, do it. We saw many groups of tourist running after the guide, stopping only in fron of some of the villas, missing most of the city. Pompeii is worth a calm visit and we really enjoyed it.

We were travelling in a cruise and stopped at Naples, the last stage.
