Krakow | View on the square from St. Mary's Church |
Compared to Warsaw, Krakow is different. It's like many other old European Cities and much more touristy.
But that also means you will easily get around with English, have enough good accomodation, and souvenir hunters are at the right spot. Just don't limit yourself to the square. It's a very nice place to hang around, but there's more! |
| | Must do 1. Visit the Market Square 2. There 2 towers to climb, take the church tower, do it shortly before the trumpetist starts playing (every hour), so you can catch the music when you are above. 3. A daytrip to Auschwitz, leave early as you may spend a lot of time finding the bus and Auschwitz itself is very large and costs a lot of time to visit. Don't let sadness keep you from going here!! 4. Nightlife, one of the best nightlife spots in Europe. You need to search a bit as many places are hidden in basements or on 1st/2nd floors. But Krakow is loaded with clubs/bars/restaurants. And do avoid the square for a drink, they charge way more then needed and are only populated by tourists. 5. Around the center is a long strip of park, stretching to the river, take this route towards the castle. |

| Pros: | "Superb nightlife, nice old city center, relaxed athmosphere" | | Cons: | "Touristy so it can be expensive, doesn't feel very Polish but rather just another old European city." | | In A Nutshell: | "Beautifull days, crazy nights." |
