"Just passin through.." Khoueng Oudomxai by steevie_wanders

Oudom Xai is a great crossroads town. You will pass through it if you're heading to the north or notheast of laos. I had to wait a night here and was lucky enough to visit the hill top temple one evening, where 100 novice monks were being ordained. A big party with lots of crazy fireworks (mostly going off at ground level), singing, praying, incence and a carnival atmosphere. People were playing games, including 'pop the ballon with a dart', and monks were telling fortunes with sticks for money?!
