Pak Beng - Welcome to Laos!

A village that's grown out of the slowboat stop-over, between Luang Prabang and Huay Xai, on the Thai border. Accomodation a-plenty, and most other things available on the street - delicious foods, drinks, opium, marijuana, jungle foods including squirrel and rat!

Also a beautiful place to watch the mists rising slowly up from the Mekong as the sun peeps over the high forested hills.

    It's now 7:45am RISE AND SHINE! oops carefull with that back ;) and no, I am not a teacher, I am just curious by nature and wanna find out where "stuff" comes from since I was a wee lass, hence explorer syndrome. Oh porridge is calling, MUST obey!
