The Great Wall is synonymous with China. What better way to start your exploration of China than spending time in Beijing, its capital which is very often overshadowed by its sibling, Shanghai.
For me, I prefer Beijing as it has a lot more character, substance and grace.
I remember the first thing that made me gasped was being in Tiannanmen Square and venturing into the Forbidden City. Beijing has really been shaped by the historical events of this ancient monument.
The Summer Palace is a remarkable work of art filled with ancient architectural marvels, breathtaking gardens and surrounded by lakes and hills.

Hi there, if you check the location page and map, this is not the large city of Beijing, but in fact a smaller town some distance from big Beijing. Would be good to get all pages on the correct location. regards, Pam.
