What began as an oasis of healing nestled in a lush Ozark valley remains today a place recalling the elegance and pace of an earlier era. Reports of Basin Spring’s miraculous healing properties in the spring’s waters brought 10,000 people to live here by the spring of 1879.
The town's unusual name Eureka”, from the Greek“I found it”, pays tribute to the curative nature of the area’s abundant spring water.
