InterContinental Bangkok: My abode   Check Rates
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • This is a great hotel with a wonderful location situated at Chidlom skytrain station. Great shopping with Gaysorn Plaza next door, Central Chidlom down the road and Siam Paragon a station away.

Rooms are comfy and the most interesting thing is their Pillow Menu where you can choose from a range of super soft to very hard pillows to suit your needs. I've been having fun trying them in turn :-)

Have not tried their spa yet which is as usual pricey as per hotel prices.

Breakfast buffets here are great with a variety of fresh juices and yummy international fare.

Gym is pretty nice high up on the 36th floor with great views of the city.

    Unique Qualities: Great central location
    Big comfy rooms
    Wonderful views from the top

  • The hotel is located in the centre of one of Bangkok's best known shopping and entertainment districts, adjacent to Siam Sky Train and close to the subway, giving easy access to the many fascinating places of interest in Bangkok.

It's a great place to stay when you're on a shopping holiday.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: Posh place   Check Rates
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • You're assured of exceptional service and unrivalled luxury at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok. Very upmarket, it's best to stay here using corporate rates on business trips.

Its location just right across from Intercontinental Hotel, Gaysorn Plaza, skytrain station and other shopping malls makes it perfectly situated to enjoy the best of Bangkok.

I love the i.sawan spa here (see Spas of Asia) as well as the noodle restaurant at the basement level (called You and Mee).

Rooms here are very well appointed and spacious (photo taken from website)

    Unique Qualities: Great location
    Wonderful spa
    Yummy food in restaurants
    Cosy ambience
    Amazing salt water pool

Plaza Athenee Bangkok, A Royal Meridien Hotel: All glass and class   Check Rates
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Set on downtown Bangkok’s famous Wireless Road, Plaza Athénée Bangkok, A Royal Méridien Hotel, is situated in the heart of Bangkok’s diplomatic and shopping quarter. An architectural masterpiece, the hotel is a gleaming glass tower that soars above the city skyline (picture taken from website).

I like staying here because of its great food at Smooth Curry thai restaurant and the lovely spa. It's also close to the Suan Lum Night Bazaar.

    Shangri-La: Riverside stay   Check Rates
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok is set in beautiful tropical gardens (picture take from website).

Be sure to ask for a river view when you check in. Also ask for a free upgrade to their newer rooms which comes with a bay window, spacious bathroom with rain shower and fine amenities.

Breakfast comes with a river view and the pool here is gorgeous. Their corporate rates are fantastic!

Unique Qualities: Great location next to river and Skytrain
    Lovely thai food at Salathip
    Dinner cruise by the river
    Spacious rooms

Citadines Bangkok Hotel: Give serviced apartments a try   Check Rates
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • I have always stayed in hotels during all my biz trips to Bangkok. On a recent personal trip, I decided to try staying at Citadines, a serviced apartment that's part of the Ascott Group. I have always thought serviced apartments are for long stays only so I was quite surprised to find that Citadines caters to short stays especially in the studio rooms.

If you're here for a short trip, try Citadines. It's small but comfy and well appointed. It may lack the full service that you find in hotels (like bathroom toiletries, bath tub, stocked minibar, daily housekeeping) but if you're just staying for 2 nights, it's fine.

Citadines is still pretty new thus everything in my studio room looks great! There's a LCD TV, comfy queen bed, sofa, writing desk, good lighting (most hotel rooms are dark but Citadines is well lighted for reading everywhere and comes with mood lighting too), small equipped kitchen and free internet.

For Baht 2000 a night including breakfast, I have everything I need. Best part is, Citadines is just 5 minutes walk to Asoke BTS.

    Unique Qualities: New serviced apartments
    Convenient location
    Affordable rates with breakfast
