Back to Phoenix Sept 2007 This being our second trip to Phoenix, we were a little more aquainted with where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do. The weather was much warmer than last year in October. Most days 95-100 degrees. It was very warm but almost no humidity (it really does make a difference) This time I went on a jeep tour in the dessert and it was fascinating! Who knew that cactus could be deadly!! Our guide gave us the real story about the "Old West". Our tour guide was actually born and raised in Phoenix. There is so very much to see in the area and so many towns relatively close together. All of the great information on this site really was an advantage to getting ready for the trip. |
Beautiful SouthWest We spent a week in the Phoenix area Oct, 2006- actually Gold Canyon AZ. The cool thing about the Phoenix area is that all the towns around it are actually suburbs of Phoenix. So it's not a far drive to get to Mesa or Tempe or Scottsdale or Apache Junction or Chandler. There is so much to see. The mountains are unbelievable and having never been to the desert it was very unique to me. The weather was wonderful 80 - 85 all week (although we heard that it was about 10 degrees cooler than normal) The sun was hot so sunscreen is a must. What a beautiful place to go and RELAX!!! |
