The world's most visited border town I was in Tijuana only for 1 day, in summer 1997, when I was on vacation in Los ANgeles. They say Tijuana is not a typical Mexican city as it is located just after the American border: less than 20 miles south of downtown San Diego lies the world's busiest port of entry - the international border crossing between San Ysidro, CA and Tijuana, Mexico
I remained impressed by the poverty when I saw 2 -year- olds asking for money in the streets while playing plastic guitars. Today visitors are attracted to Tijuana, a bustling city of more than one million people, primarily for its shopping and entertainment opportunities |
