Nightlife Spot: Guenther Murphy's
Günther's is very similar to the traditional English/Irish pubs you get in the UK / Ireland. And they have Guinness on tap. It's a good place for watching football, rugby and Formula 1 because they have lots of overhead TVs, lots of standing room and a giant screen, but if it's a big occasion get there early or you'll be lucky to a) get in and b) see anything. Very international crowd sometimes, especially during large football championships. Everybody speaks English and they do one of the best big breakfasts in town

Nightlife Spot: Sausalitos
Sausalitos is a Germany wide chain of Mexican restaurants. There are three branches in Munich; one on Tal in the city center (pictured), a second on Türkenstrasse in Schwabing, and a third bar outdoors in the Hofbräukeller beer garden in Haidhausen. The two indoor bars are both pretty much the same in terms of atmosphere, clientele, food, service, etc. Both are also very popular and are always packed - although that doesn't necessarily mean that they're any good. McDonalds branches are usually quite busy too, but you don't see those featured in any quality restaurant guide.

Nightlife Spot: News Cafè
This bar is right in the heart of Schwabing. This café has one of the funkiest interior designs on the strip with hip oval-shaped Afro-centric murals on the walls, dark wooden furniture and floors, high backed leather benches, red rectangular lamps hanging above the bar and sofas in the back that resemble a mountain range. Breakfast, sandwiches, pastas and, yes, plenty of cocktails are all on offer.

Nightlife Spot: Schwabing
In this area of the city called "Schwabing", you will find funky little cafe/bars. Nothing special, but popular. Good service, good food, relaxed atmosphere full of university students and young people.
