  • Favorite Thing: The Quartier Latin ("Latin Quarter") is an area in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, France, around the Sorbonne University.

The name derives from the Latin language, which was widely spoken in the Middle Ages in and around the University.

It currently still houses various higher education establishments, such as the École Normale Supérieure, the École des Mines and the Jussieu university campus.

Nowadays it is a very touristic place with lots of restaurants, Cafès, bars

  • Favorite Thing: "The Moulin Rouge" is a worldwide known Parisian cabaret thanks to its exceptional shows and to its famous French Cancan !
It became world-wide famous thanks to its French Cancan, and immortalized by the painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, has always presented sumptuous shows to its spectators: feathers, shinestones and sequins, fabulous settings, original music and of course the most beautiful girl in the world..

  • Favorite Thing: Paris is one of the birthplaces of photography and a city whose casual beauty makes for rich material to anyone willing to walk around slowly and observe carefully. It could be that your eyes will settle on a bit of sculpture on a building facade. Or the arrangement of goods in a shop

  • Favorite Thing: During the XVIIth century, the Marais area was the area of the elegant townhouses with a Renaissance style. Some of these townhouses can be visited today : the Hotel de Sully ; the Hotel de Lauzun (that Baudelaire and Téophile Gautier frequented), the Hotel de Lamoignon (formerly called Hotel de Beauvais) that houses the Historical Library of Paris (Librairie Historique de Paris); the Hotel de Rohan ; the charming Hotel de Sens that houses the Fornay Library (Librairier Fornay), the Hotel Guénégaud that houses the Museum of Hunting and Nature (Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature) and the Hotel Soubise.

  • Paris - Place de la Bastille

  • Favorite Thing: The Bastille Square (Place de la Bastille) is a famous site "thanks" to the French Revolution. Indeed, there was a prison there where the Revolution started. Now, you could find the Opera Bastille House (Maison de l'Opera Bastille) - a modern building built to commemorate the Revolution's Bicentennial.
The Bastille area is a historic area once "specialized" in furniture-making. Now, few craftsmen in their workshops who are in love with this activity, keep the tradition alive.

  • Favorite Thing: The Montmartre Mound (Butte Montmartre) -name given to the hill of Montmartre- is full of street artists (painters, sculptors and poets) who are essentially located on the Tertre Square (Place du Tertre). It is some king of a village with its own pace of life. You could even find a vineyard at the corner of the Rue des Saules and Rue Saint Vincent ! It is a very picturesque site.
