Seoul is my birth place. It is where I was born and where I spent most of my youth life. My last visit to Seoul was in October 2003 due to a business trip and it was my first trip back in about 16 years ever since my family left the city in May 1987. Things were quite different. Everything had changed so much that it was more difficult to find something recognizable. In fact, I was having a hard time blending-in with the local Koreans and felt more like a foreigner visiting the city for the very first time. "63 building" was no longer the tallest building in Korea and the Seoul subway system increased its size by adding 5 more lines. But the most surprise of all, my youth friends were all grown up. Most of them got married and some even had kids. Although I spent most of my time working while I was in Seoul, I had a great time meeting old friends and family. I plan to take another trip in 2006.
