Barbershop Café

It would be hard to find a more peaceful, tranquil little town than Hillsboro.

It is one of those places that make you so glad you didn?t just stick to the Interstate but instead took the time to explore ?off the beaten path?.

A former silver mining boom town, sleepy Hillsboro today has a population of just 200. There may not seem a lot to lure you here, but if you like to explore a slower pace of life, at least for an hour or two; if you like to take photos of characterful old buildings; if you?re interested in local art and crafts ...

... then Hillsboro could be the place for you.

Fun, fun page, Sarah! This is a little corner of N.M. we've haven't made it to yet (and clearly MY kind of place) so must add to the route for the next trip.

Too bad Kingston has only preserved the bank and not the opera house! But the bank with its 1890s woodwork does look good, I must admit.

HeHe! a congested town of 200! that's hilarious. I love little towns like this and the Trading Store sounds like a lot of fun to browse through.

I like your "congested" area tip and the photo of the row of houses that comes with it!
