There’s more to Jamaica than all-inclusive resorts and beaches, great though these may be for some.

We came looking for the “real Jamaica”, whatever that is, and I think, just now and then, we found it.

Our Jamaica

Lush green landscapes with drifts of smoke; friendly people; colourful shacks; iridescent hummingbirds; beautiful sunsets; chilled beer and rum cocktails; reggae rhythms and rasta hats …

… that was our Jamaica.

Super page about a place we must go to one day - MrL's g-g'father was born in Jamaica in 1839 - a complicated and romantic part of the family story.

Superb page Sarah! We nearly booked for Kingston a couple of years ago, then went to Thasos instead (££!)... and good thing we did, as that week they had a terrible hurricane! Really enjoyed your photos too :)
