"Hidden treasures" Fabriano by toonsarah
Fabriano Travel Guide: 27 reviews and 108 photos
In particular, I had read about a rather special Fabriano museum on Ingrid’s page, the Museo della Carta e della Filigrana, and was really keen to visit, so I was pleased when she suggested that our day out from Gubbio should take in the town.
We only spent a few hours in Fabriano and I am sure didn’t see everything the town has to offer, so this isn’t a comprehensive page. Indeed, I was in two minds whether or not to build a separate page or simply describe the town on a regional Marche one. But when I saw how little coverage it has on VT, I decided that Fabriano deserves what little extra publicity I can give it.
If you would like to read more about Fabriano, check out Ingrid’s rather more comprehensive page.
Or start your mini tour with me at the museum
- Pros:The Museo della Carta e della Filigrana alone is worth the detour

Fabriano and surroundings looks to be a lovely place to spend a day in.
Indeed it is - we had a lovely morning here :-) Thanks for visiting my page
Sarah, lovely little page about this hidden and almost unknown place in the Apennines.
Thanks Holger - I would never have known about it were it not for Ingrid :-)
I like the fountain, the fortified looking church and it's interesting that here in Fabriano the watermark was invented. You really had brilliant sunshine everywhere :-)
How nice that they let you have an unhurried look at the museum even though it was their lunch hour. I'm sure you are right that the invention of the printing press would not have made much impact without the parallel development of paper-making.
Someone bought an iPad and managed to get baby to sleep for more then half an hour!!!! Lol. Great little page Sarah, wish I had been there along with you lovely ladies!!
Oh sweet memories :-) Thank you Sarah for having joined me :-)) Funny that the fountain has an own FB page :-)
