"The World Awaits!" trvlrgrl's Profile
As a child I dreamed of traveling the world, but thought that traveling to exotic and far away places was a pasttime for the rich and privileged, not little brown girls from San Jose.
So I didn't start traveling until much later than most. In fact in my mid-20's I turned down an ALL-EXPENSE paid trip to Australia because I didn't think I could take time off work or school. Obviously I wasn't ready to say "yes" to my adventure...yet.
A few years later though I came to my senses and went on my first international trip, and I've been traveling consistently ever since.
Traveling has opened my eyes in some unexpected ways. It's made me re-evaluate all those things I thought were universal and shown me just how American I really am (both in a good way and in some less-than-good ways...I'm working on those :) And even though I've been traveling now for years, I still marvel at how much left there is to see, how many experiences are waiting to happen, and how many fascinating fellow wanderers I have yet to meet.
