On my trip to Playa Juan Dolio in the South East of the Dominican Republic, I traveled to a wonderful quaint town of San Pedro de Macoris-- home of Sammy Sosa. San Pedro also has some interesting history. Many of its inhabitants are decendants of the English speaking workers who came over from the Leeward Islands to work the sugar cane fields in the 1800s. |

| | Clean Town, Small Shops We enjoyed shopping in the local, I should say, Target-like tienda of San Pedro. We were impressed by how clean the town looked and by the town's infrastructure. |
