I have recently moved back to the city of Glasgow. I was born there, and am very proud to call it my birthplace. It is an amazing, lively city, full of culture and excitement. The locals are, on the whole, charming and hospitable, although you are guaranteed to meet a few unsavoury characters. The 'banter' made famous by 'Chewin' the Fat' is alive and well, to be heard in many of the city's bars and, notoriously, take-aways. I recommend the West End for shopping, eating and drinking. Here you will, often by accident, find many a backstreet shop filled with glorious second-hand delights, and if posing is your thing there are plenty of deliciously hip coffee bars too.
