The city doesn't have the buzz of Bangkok which is a good thing for people who are after more scenery , trekking, learning about Thailand's different cultural minorities. And authentic souveneirs and cuisine.

Pros and Cons

Pros:More authentic culture, food , souveneirs plus cleaner air
Cons:not as fun as Bangkok if you're after the nightlife
