I must admit to all of you that I haven't done much international travel. I have briefly trekked in and out of Ontario and Quebec, Canada...but going to Oaxaca, Mexico to visit an old friend was something really special. I only wish I had more time while I was there.
Oaxaca sits in the Sierra Madres. I do believe the elevation is somewhere around 7000 feet. I will update this if it is incorrect. The air in December was dry and warm, the nights cool and refreshing.
There is so much art here. The architecture is beautiful, the people smile at you and they have a genuine liveliness that is infectious.
I didn't spend a great deal of time in the city...most of it was travelling down by the coast....so I will have more pictures of that area shortly...
- Pros:friendly people, smiles, very artistic, amazing markets, good food, EXCELLENT chocolate...
- Cons:smoggy, congested traffic...
- In a nutshell:the place just feels good! it's very alive, colorful and vibrant!
