Malaga is dusty, laid back, and the hub of Costa Del Sol. The beaches are not great but the beach scene is. At night, Malaca like most Spanish towns comes alive. Griengos do not try to keep up with the locals. We are not genetically programmed to eat late and party into the wee hours and then be a work promptly at 8:am fresh and full of life.
This area exemplifies the Spanish love of enjoyment of life. But hey, we can try to blend in, to become one with the locals. Claro?
I am returning to Malaca in two days. This summer I am staying for three weeks to study spanish at Malaga Instituto - an extremely superior language school: Swimming pool, computer lab, onsite residence, restaurant, bar, cine, library, you name it - and everything is said and done in spanish. Total immersion.
- Pros:Wonderful food, post office & train & visitors bureau located in downtown area. numerous banks, bookstores, easy transportation on city buses, cabs are inexpensive
- Cons:city feels dirty
- In a nutshell:Malaga, the average man's Marbella - only better
