"Bosque de - Kauris - Forest" Waipoua Forest by elpariente

En este parque natural se puede , dando un pequeño paseo , uno imaginar lo que fueron los bosques de Nueva Zelanda que estaban llenos de kauris , coníferas de más de cincuenta metros de altura que fueron una base importante de la economía de esta zona de Nueva Zelanda
Se pueden ver varios kauris gigantescos , entre ellos :
- The Matua Ngahere ( El padre del bosque ) Posiblemente sea el árbol más viejo de NZ con casi "4000" años y tiene un tronco con cinco metros de diámetro
- Las cuatro hermanas
- El árbol Fantasma - es el segundo árbol más grande
- Tane Mahuta , tiene el nombre del Dios de los árboles y más alto que el Padre del Bosque , pero sólo tiene "2200" años
La resina de estos árboles aparte de tener una época dorada en que alcanzó grandes precios por su utilización ediversos productos químicos , produjo un tipo de ambar muy preciado que se llama "Kauri gum"

In this national park , just with a short stroll, you can imagine what were the forests of New Zealand who were full of kauri, conifers over fifty feet high that were an important item of the economy of this area of New Zealand
You can see several giant kauri, among them:
- The Matua Ngahere (Father of the forest) that is possibly the oldest tree in NZ with almost "4000" years and has a trunk diameter of five meters
- The Four Sisters
- The Tree Ghost - is the second largest tree
- Tane Mahuta, has the name of the God of the forest and it is taller than the Father of the Forest, but it has only "2200 "years
The resin from these trees , had a golden age when reached great prices because it was used in chemical products . Actually exist a type of amber called "Kauri gum" of great quality
