De Potosí salió gran cantidad de plata para España , que era extraída , tratada con azoque (mercurio) y posteriormente transformada en monedas que salían desde Bolivia hasta España por la Argentina , lo que creó la leyenda de que con tanto mineral de plata, se hubiese podido tender un puente de plata entre Potosí y Madrid

From Potosí came out a lot of silver to Spain , that was extracted , treated with mercury and latter on transformed in coins , that were going from Bolivia to Spain via Argentine . This gave origin to the legend that with so much material they could make a silver bridge between Potosí and Madrid
