Beautiful Oban

I arrived in Oban by train from Glasgow at 10pm. I do wish I had been able to catch an earlier train as I know I missed some gorgeous scenery. It was getting really beautiful when it got dark. My train stopped in every wee village possible and it was often traveling at a very slow speed as it climbed in elevation.

The next morning I was finally able to see the harbor, although, through the rain. I caught the Cal-Mac ferry over to the Isle of Mull and Tobermory to spend a few days.

Oh, and before arriving I had been saying "o-Ban"... What a American rube! It is pronounced "O-bn."

Oban - Second Visit

When I returned to Oban from Isle of Mull, it was in bright, warm sunshine. This little harbor town of about 10,000 is beautiful! Met some lovely people here too. I definitely want to come back for another visit!
