Tobermory - Harbor, Main Street and Ferry

Welcome to Tobermory

Took the Cal-Mac ferry from Oban to Craignure then caught a bus into Tobermory. It was a gorgeous trip. There were little waterfalls coming off the mountains. I saw two seals on the beach. There were lots of sheep, cattle, and the shaggy Scottish cattle. The heather was in bloom and it was just amazingly beautiful. Some of the road to Tobermory is single track.

Tobermory - A harbor village

Tobermory is a lovely little harbor town with a number of restaurants, shops and the Tobermory Whiskey Distillery.

This trip I road the ferry over from Oban so had to rely on the bus services to and from Craignure. There are other small local buses, however, they just go from village to village. Next time I will bring a rental car so I can explore much more of the island itself. For example, there are prehistoric standing stones on the island I want to see, and I would like to stop along the beach and watch the birds and seals.
