I must be honest, when i first arrived in Varanasi I didn't like it. I spend my first hours argueing with a rikshaw driver who drove me to the wrong place (see tourist traps).
The next day I went to the Ganges and started to get into the vibe of the city. It's hard to explain but the things I've seen here were inimagable, crazy, shocking........
Afterwards Varanasi is the place that made the biggest impression for me on my India trip.
- Pros:a lot of culture, immense ghats, very impressive
- Cons:a lot of hassle, poverty is shocking
