I've just come back from a quick visit to Hamburg (been to an exhibition with my company). If you are looking for a couple of drinks in a bar with a great view, try the Tower Bar in the hotel Hafen Hamburg. It's on the 12th floor of the hotel and has a great view overlooking Hamburg harbour. You might want to book ahead as people queue to get in.
