I had a week's gap between finishing my last job and starting this one and thought I'd visit the pyramids. I had been to Luxor two years previously but not North of there and since then had wanted to go back to Egypt. I found the scale of the pyramids amazing and the time really flew past, as I walked around the site to see everything. I had also wanted to be able to visit the step pyramids at Saqarra and the museum at Cairo and it was fairly easy to do so from this area.
