The last time I was in the UK was back in 1985... A 5 year old, holding on to my daddy's hand, or mama's skirt...and marching down the streets of foggy London Town. Some of the few memories that flash in my head are of us stopping to watch the Queen's guards with their furry hats and expressionless faces...Awaiting ol' Big Ben's ding donging, and watching the STARLIGHT EXPRESS at the Apollo Victoria.
20 years later, I found myself walking down the same streets in the same city, only to find that London had to offer so much more than my lil eyes had seen, and my mind had managed to register so many years ago. But even with my 10 day stay, which I spent walking around the city, and with my wonderful friends' efforts to show me all there is to see, and to be the best guides anyone could really ask for... London has proved to be a place that holds so many treasures that would take years to unravel.
BUUuuuuTTT...I have to say that I had a fabulous time..and there's so much more where that came from ;) Thanks guys @--|---
...oh YES! The happy bunch..got into a car, and drove off to Heathrow airport lol Of course, Emeraldcedar was there for the g'bye party...and to make sure that Cham didn't doze off..and so, 3 minutes after we took off, she dipped her head, and sunk into a deeeeeep sleep :o)
Cham, of course, with the help of his gorgeous 'Le Jagal' (check his HP for further details) managed to get us there...in once piece.
I'd been told so much about London and the english weather...a foggy city where the sun rarely shines! Well, I'd have to say that this was not the case when I was there this early May :) I woke up almost each morning with the sun blasting into the room...and it managed to hand around throughout most of my stay!
In any case.. however the weather may be, don't let it deter you from enjoying the splendours of this colorful city ;-)
- Pros:Multi-cultural, so much to see, so vibrant
- Cons:Expensive, SO much traffic
- In a nutshell:The Whole World in One City

really disapointing. I went there with 3 good friends of mine for my birthday. End up paying 80 pounds for 3 couscous of a medium quality, a bottle of wine and a plate of not so great sweets...
Like the way you blend the facts and your feelings for London. Great page.
