"blue sea green hills : Costa degli Etruschi" San Vincenzo by lucamil
San Vincenzo Travel Guide: 9 reviews and 22 photos
Actually, San Vincenzo until last year worked as a launchpad to the fantastic Baratti - Populonia area.
Archaeology, cool temperature, clean water, free beach ( you don't pay for entering it ).
You pay for parking and services, that include warm showers, not only beds & "ombrelloni".
Beach 'combed' every morning by the Italian local government.
Until this year I never bothered to visit the harbour.
There's the famous and expensive restaurant, Il Gambero Rosso.
Nice place to watch sunsets.
Elba is reachable through Piombino, that's 15 miles away ( 22 KM ).
The hills above San Vincenzo are also very nice, and you have those wonderful sights.
Expert eyes can recognize the Populonia promontory ( seems it comes from Flufluns, Etruscan for Bacchus ) and Elba island beyond.
See also : San Carlo.
- Pros:I go there!
- Cons:No thrills frills and nightlife
- In a nutshell:you are going to swim, arent you ?
