Things To Do: Crossing the Road - Just Follow the Leader

You don't consider having visited HCMC till you crossed one of the roads there! It's both physically and mentally challenging but that's where the thrill is.
For first timers, just follow the leaders. Be subtle: select your leader (anyone who looks experience to cross the road) and positioned yourself next to him/her with him/her blocking the on-coming traffic. Follow what the leader do and you will find yourself across the street in no time!
This is how I cross the road for the first time. Subsequently, I figured out the art of cross the roads!

The Reunification Palace is the FIRST place you should visit once your feet touched HCMC! It is definitely one of the most fascinating structure to visit - if you don't have much time, this is one place you should not miss.
The Reunification Palace saw the rise and fall of 4 presidents before the North and South Vietnam reunified. Though it is no longer used for state affairs, the palace is still filled with grandeur and awe. Visit the various rooms and you will realise that the past presidents have high taste for furniture and antique. It is really a palace!
Interestingly, take a look at the tunnel that leads no where. According to my guide, the tunnel was built to reach the airport. However, the ground was tough and it's not easy to dig the tunnels - the construction failed. The tunnel was a hiding place for the President during war time.

The War Remnants Museum was formerly known as the Museum of Chinese and American War Crimes. Today, it is a museum frequent by Western tourists. Many of the atrocities not reported in the media can be found here.
At the museum, you will be greeted with lots of photo galleries, depicting the horrors of the war - not only the Vietnameses but also the Americans. It was heart-breaking to see the pain and tears the victims have to go through for this war.
When I was there, I saw many Americans taking their own time to read all the writings on the photographs. I could see their sadness in their eyes. This is a truly good educational tour - something that you would not read much about in your history textbooks.

Thien Hau is also known as the "Goddess of Sea" by many Chinese. Many sailors, fishermen and travellers would pray to her for safety at sea.
This temple, located in Chinatown (District 5), was built by Cantonese. Take time to visit this temple when you are in Chinatown. You will be amazed by the intricate carvings on the walls and rooftops.

Things To Do: Santuary at the Heart of City: Spa Tropic

This is our first time visiting a spa in Ho Chi Minh City. Spa Tropic is highly recommended by many regional spa publications and hence, for our 24-hour adventure in HCMC, we decided to give it a shot!
Although Spa Tropic is located at the heart of the busy city, it is located at the end of a bamboo shrouded pathway, away from the madness of the modern traffic. Upon reaching the spa, you felt as though you have stepped into a peaceful santuary. While waiting for our treatment, we were resting in a frangrant lounge with soothing pip-in music. We almost fell asleep!
I tried the facial while my fiancee tried the deep tissue massage. The therapists ensured that our needs were well-taken of. The one-hour session was relaxing and we enjoyed the serenity of the environment.
The service rendered was great and the Spa Manager also helped us to get a taxi for our next destination.
