Mazar-e Sharif Travel Guide: 14 reviews and 33 photos

Mazar, my home

Mazar-i-Sharif is the second largest city in Afghanistan, It boosts over 1m people. I covers a large area of the northern plain between the mountain ridge and the Uzbek border. It is located east of the old city of Balk, famous for Silk Route ruins. At the present time, Mazar is the quietest city in Afghanistan and the security the best, thanks to the balance of ethnicities.

Blue Mosque

The Mazar landscape, especially the city center is dominated by this beautiful mosque covered in blue ceramic. The mosque is surrounded by a wonderful park, where people stroll all day. It is worth a visit...

Good tip. You should put up more pics and tips about Mazar. I would love to visit there some day. What landed you here?

Very useful tips about Afganistan! There is lack of tourist information about this country, as well as tourists themselfes :) Nonetheless, if anytime I'll go there, I'll take a look at your pages at first.
