Our 2 night stopover in Toronto was very exciting and action packed. A beautiful harbour city located on Lake Ontario it offered much to see during the day, some beautiful old buildings have been retained but this is the city of the skyscraper office building, the large apartment buildings lining the harbour and all looked down upon by the beautiful CN Tower.
Much of this modern city was developed during the period eighties and nineties and now has a population of approximately 5.8 million people.
I must say the highlight of our visit was evening dinner in the Revolving Restaurant within the CN Tower. You just had to look around you to see the excitement in the faces of people everywhere in the restaurant. The meal was excellent , however we were there for the view and excitement of the night. Walking the glass balcony outside was a test I failed, however my wife put in a gutsy performance and danced on the glass.
Thank you Toronto! |

Bwana_Brown Tue May 5, 2009 02:52 UTC Mike, it looks like you had the chance to make an excellent swan dive! Wait a minute, that lake is just a bit too far out! Great page on Toronto - you've seen more than I. | Nemorino Fri Aug 1, 2008 21:49 UTC Glad you enjoyed your stopover in Toronto, and saw a lot. My last visit there was for a convention in 1982. By the way my grandfather was born in Toronto in 1877. | nicolaitan Sun Jul 27, 2008 13:03 UTC nice page - we visited Toronto several times in the 90's. It also has an underground city. Enjoyable page. On to Lancaster. |
