Modern City Offers Much For Tourists | View To City From Granville Island |
We arrived in Vancouver the last week of June 2007 after holidaying in the Rocky Mountains, having left Banff 2 days earlier on the fabulous Rocky Mountaineer train. Our entry to Vancouver was through the old railway sidings which gave a very "run down" view of the city. It all changed very quickly when we left the railway station we soon saw the beautiful, modern city with its fabulous harbour surrounded by mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
We had 2 days in Vancouver before joining a 7 day cruise to Alaska through the Inside Passage and upon return we had another 5 days to enjoy the city. |

| | Rocky Mountaineer Train Our 2 days on the train were a sheer pleasure, comfort, commentary, five star service and dining to compliment the magnificent scenery often in areas where road vehicles cannot access. This was definetely a trip to remember. |

| | Day Trip To Vancouver Island This was one of the highlights of our week. Victoria is a fine old city with many beautiful old buildings surrounding the harbour. We took a day tour which included the 1.5 hour ferry trip through the calm waters followed by a coach trip from the sea terminal to the city where we had free time to do our own thing. After lunch back on the coach to the world renown Buchart Gardens which were a real delight. |
