We booked a day tour at the Tourist Information Centre in Vienna and the next morning at 7:15 am a 4 wheel drive arrived at our accommodation for the start of our day trip.There were 2 other couples in the modern and comfortable vehicle. Caught in the morning traffic we soon got through to the highway and beautiful countryside. After a few hours we were approaching the Alpine region and mid morning came to the Sound Of Music film area then onto the magnificant Hallstatt town and lake district. We eventually reached Salzburg and were shown the main attractions.It was a warm sunny day, not what you associate with the Ski town of Salzburg. We walked through the main fashion shop street, very crowded and could only imagine what it would be like in the peak ski season. An enjoyable few hours in Salzsburg then back into the vehicle for the long drive home arriving in Vienna at 8pm. Tour cost Euro 100 per person, web page: www.tours-are-us.com |
