Getting TO/AROUND: We chose to travel by train from Vienna to Prague as it would give us a fast and easy trip. We had arranged reserved first class seats prior to arriving in Vienna and as we were travelling on a Saturday it worked out well as the trains are usually booked out on weekends. We had very comfortable seats with plenty of leg room, in fact it was an excellent carriage we were in. We had been advised to take some food and drink which we purchased at Suedbahnhof prior to boarding the train. There are plenty of good bakery type shops at the station.

The train left at 11:08am and arrived at Prague Holesovice station at 15:32pm, right on schedule. It was a very good trip, some good scenery and the only interuptions we had were from the Passport Security Inspectors as we left Austria and entered Czech Republic, allinspections are done on the train.

The ticket cost US$79.00 one way.
